I am ripping off the Subject of the last email sent by my editor. We are in the second round of revisions for Torn, and I am exhausted. Not because I had alot of changes to make, but because my characters have been haunting my every waking moment. AGAIN! I say “again” because I was sure I put these characters to rest the second I typed THE END. I should have known better. THE END was just the beginning.
Revisions are my favorite part of publishing a book. Other authors may hate this part, but I LOVE it. It’s like an oil painting. First you start with a blank canvas, then you slop on some paint, then you add layers of color, then you add fine details and finally you hang it on a wall. Revisions are the fine details on your work of art. What would the Mona Lisa be without her smile? Or a Monet’s lily without those little squiggly lines? Embrace revisions, people. That’s all i’m saying.
I’m very excited to share Shane and Dixie’s romance with everyone. In the meantime I have alot of writing to do. So I’d better get to it
