Everything was Bigger in the 80’s

I love the 80′s :) Even though I didn’t graduate until 1996, the 80′s are still my favorite era. It’s so fun to see it making a comeback in my daughter’s wardrobe :) I am so excited to introduce Jannine Gallant today and her book Lonely Road to You.

Thanks for having me today, Keri. It’s a pleasure to visit your blog!

LonelyRoadToYou_w5650_300In the summer of 2010, I went a little crazy and wrote three books for a brand new series from The Wild Rose Press called the Class of ’85. Why, you might ask? Because the series’ title hooked me. Having graduated from college in 1984, I have some wonderful memories from the early 80’s. Great times spent with good friends.

June 18th through the 22nd, five books from this terrific, multi-author series are free, including the first one I wrote, Lonely Road To You. To celebrate, I’m taking a trip back to the past and reliving those years. Today, let’s talk style!

Or should I say lack there of! LOL If there’s one thing I don’t miss from the 80’s, it’s the clothes. Let’s face it folks, bigger isn’t always better. Shoulder pads – oh Lord! Why did women want to look like linebackers? And puffy sleeves – really! What the heck were we thinking? Leg warmers were in. Guys wore short shorts. Cringe. Hairy legs and short shorts are not a good combination. And then there was the hair. BIG hair. PUFFY hair. I look at old pictures and smile. We thought we looked great.

If there’s one thing my heroine in Lonely Road To You has, it’s style. She’s sleek and cool and has her act together as a popular children’s book author and illustrator. On a cross-country road trip to her 25 year high school reunion, she finds adventure—and love—with an old classmate. My hero is a retired rock star. A true leather meets lace story.

As I mentioned, five books from the series are free. Just click on the titles to be taken directly to the Amazon download link!
