Four days til Ego! Here’s your daily excerpt:
He repeated his question, “What can you tell me about these men?“ He pointed to the photographs he had laid out face up. The photos were grotesque and showed three bloated grey bodies lying on metal tables. Grace was horrified by his bluntness.
She turned her head slightly away. “Those are disgusting can you please put them away?” she asked.
He plowed on. “Anthony Connor, a insurance salesman from Phoenix, thirty years old, married, no children, last seen eighteen months ago; Vincent Young, thirty-five years old, an artist from Cheyenne, married, no children, last seen fourteen months ago; and Christopher Bailey, a landscaper from Boulder, forty years old, married, five children, last seen ten months ago when he was overseeing the work on Pines Park.
“Grace, these are the men you confessed to killing. These men had families, ok. So I want you to look at their faces and tell me again, you are the person who murdered them. Because there is something missing from this puzzle, Grace, and we are not leaving this room until you tell me what that something is.”
